Travel to Halong Bay in typhoon season

We are a family wanting to travel to Harlong Bay in October 2011. Many reviews say not to go during this time due to the Typhoon season. It would just be a day trip for us from Hanoi. Any comments would be appreciated!

Yes, you could spend some days in Halong in Oct. It is not always raining or has typhoon in Halong, after some raining days there are sunny days for your trip

You should wait until you arrive in Hanoi, see how the weather is then decide, you won't have a problem booking a junk in October

Just to add that we were there last October and the weather was lovely in Hanoi and Halong Bay, it was in Central Vietnam that rained continually during this period.
