Bio-diversity is an important natural resource and needs to be preserved and conserved to maintain the ecological balance of the whole region. Bio-diversity is the general term used to reflect diversify and abundance in nature and includes all living things.

Halong Bay’s geological value has been evaluated in two ways: by the history of its formation and by its karst geomorphology.

Halong Bay is located in the Northeast of Vietnam, belonging to QuangNinh Province. It is in the coastal area stretching from 1060 56’ to 1070 37’ east longitude and 200 43’ to 210 09’ north latitude. To the west and northwest, Halong Bay stretches  from Yen Hung District, and includes the large urban areas of Halong City and Cam Pha Town, as well as Van Don Island District. To the south and southeast, it is adjacent to the western Tonkin Gulf and to the west and southwest lies Cat Ba Island in the province of Hai Phong.  On the world map, Ha Long Bay borders to China in the north and in the east it is adjacent to the East Sea.

Halong Bay is one of the world's natural wonders and is the most beautiful tourist destination of Vietnam. Halong Bay features more than one thousand awesome limestone karsts and islands of various sizes and shapes along the 120-km coastline of Bai Chay Beach.
 

“Ha Long” is literally translated as "Bay of Descending Dragons." Prior to the 19th century, this name was not recorded in any document or archive. When mentioning the present-day Quang Ninh Sea or Ha Long Bay, old historical books often referred to them by the names of An Bang, Luc Thuy or Van Don.

Place:  Cửa Ông Temple, Cửa Ông Ward, Cẩm Phả Town.
Time: Yearly, the festivities take place at the Cửa Ông Temple from the second day of the first lunar month until the end of the third lunar month.

Place: Yên Giang Commune, Yên Hưng District.
Time: The festival is organized on the eight day of the fourth lunar month, some years last 4 days and nights.

Place:  At Thập Cửu Tiên Công Temple (Temple of the 19 Founding Fathers) in Cẩm La Commune on Hà Nam Island, Yên Hưng District.
Time: Every year, the village starts the festivities on the seventh day of the first lunar month.

Place:  Trà Cổ Village, Móng Cái Town.
Time: Festivities in Trà Cổ take place yearly from the 30th day of the fifth lunar month until the sixth day of the sixth lunar month.

Place:   The mountainous region of Yên Tử, Thượng Yên Công Commune, Uông Bí Town
Time: Yên Tử festivities begin on the ninth day of the first lunar month and last until the end of the third lunar month.

Place:   Ðình Wharf in Quan Lạn Commune, Vân Ðồn District
Time: The festivities are organized yearly on the 18th day of the sixth lunar month, but the celebration lasts from the 10th to the 20th days of month.
